What happens to new oceanic crust at a mid-ocean ridge?

a. it forms new mountains under the water

b. it climbs up the mantle to form a trench

c. it gets hotter and sinks into a trench

d. it is so dense that gravity puls it into a deep-ocean trench

    It climbs up the mantle to form a trench. Its not A because mountains form when 2 continental plates converge but since we are talking about an oceanic and a continental plate, that answer is not right and c and d make no sense what so ever
