The Mariana Trench is the deepest part in the world's oceans. It is located in the Pacific Ocean and has a depth of - 36,069'. It form the boundary between two tectonic plates, the Pacific Plate, and the Mariana Plate. The western edge of the Pacific Plate is subducted under the Mariana plate. The movement of these two plates is indirectly responsible for the formation of the Mariana islands, volcanic islands caused by flux melting.
