The most drastic tsunami happened in the Indian Ocean last December 26, 2004, having a magnitude of 9.0 it resulted in killing 250,000 people. The disaster didn't end and added more than a million homeless and affected 13 countries and made some unfavorable ecological changes.

Besides this, the Tsunami that happened in Japan with almost the same magnitude did make some damages but not as great as Indonesia. However, the people are more concerned about the nuclear fallout and its effects on the environment.
