    A. A hypothesis is a proposition that aims to explain a phenomenon or occurrence. In order for a Scientific hypothesis to be proved, a Scientific method must be used to test it (e. g. observation of data/statistics, analysis of measurements). A working hypothesis requires further data and analysis to be proved. With an amount of prior knowledge of a situation, a hypothesis can be formed as an explanation.
