The deadliest tsunami was the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004, (that was caused by an earthquake) it was estimated to have released the energy of 23,000 Hiroshima-type atomic bomb. The rupture was more than 600 miles long and more than 230,000 people died. People are still dealing with the aftermath, although it originated of the coast of Sumatra the deadly waves reached all over the Indian ocean.
