It is true that soil compaction can result in increased flooding in an area. Soil compaction actually results in structural degradation of the soil. It actually increases the bulk density of the soil and decreases the porous nature of the soil due to internal or external pressurization. Generally it has been seen that compaction changes the physical, biological and chemical properties of the soil. It also causes soil erosion and so considered as one of the most important cause for creating environmental problems.
