At the end of the Paleozoic Era, there was a mass extinction that wiped out over 90% of all species. What was the possible cause of this mass extinction and why did it cause so many organisms to become extinct?

    A possible cause was a meteorite hit the earth. it caused many organisms to become extinct because it blocked out the Sun so plants couldn't grow and herbivores couldn't eat the plants and carnivores couldn't eat herbivores.
