What happened to East and West Germany after the Berlin Wall fell?

    In short: they re-united (much like we're hoping the two Koreas will one day unite).

    In more detail: the East Germany joined West Germany. This means that it accepted its currency, foreign policy, political system, social and administrative systems.

    However, there continues to be a difference in wealth between the two.
