Why do rock fossils form in sedimentary rock and not in igneous rock

    After time, sediments will build upon the dead organism and covering it, creating a fossil from sedimentary rock. Fossils do not form in igneous rock because igneous rock is made from magma and or lava, fossils can not be created in the hot temperatures of magma or lava.
