Why do many islands in the South Pacific lack an adequate standard of living?

a) The islands do not have any natural resources.

b) The islands are too small to provide sufficient natural resources.

c) Constant warfare has weakened the economies of the islands.

d) The climate is too harsh on the islands to properly support human life.

    The options c) and d) are not true (although d can be partially argued for: they have problems with soil erosion and winds).

    a and b however are both true - and they are connected to each other, a being the result of b.

    Becasue of this, I think that B is the best option, as they have some but not many natural resources - due to their size.
