The Roman and Han empires flourished in trade. The decline of trade affected Rome more than the Han Empire as the Roman economy relied mostly on trade. Both Roman and Han Empire experienced social unrest during their collapse. Nomadic invasions were a menace to both the empires. The failure of these empires may be attributed to outraged citizens, decline in trade and agriculture and corrupted officials.
