Why did president eisenhower send (federal) military soldiers to little rock, arkansas in 1957?

    Dwight Eisenhower send Federal Troops to Little Rock when Governor Faubus failed to honor a Supreme Court ruling that made racial segregation in public schools illegal. The troops were send in the maintain peace while African/American students enrolled in the schools
