How did the great awakening encourage the growth of democracy in the colonies?

    It encouraged it because it claimed that we were all equal and that god made us all equal, and if it is true, then all people should be equal, including women and minorities. If it was mentioned in the constitution and the declaration of independence, then all people should indeed be equal and not just white people.
