Like Egypt Nubia was divided into upper and lower regions. The upper region of Nubia was considered to be up stream or southern. Then the lower region of Nubia was considered to be down stream or Northern. Nubia and Egypt are both located in Africa. Nubia extended from the southern boundary of Egypt, southward to include present day Sudan. Like the Egyptians the people of Nubia lived along the Nile. In contrast, in southern Nubia unlike in Egypt, was a climate that provided greater moisture. That meant that farming was not limited to the Nile valley as in Egypt. Nubia was an excellent source of goods.
