Who assesses presidential nominations for federal judges in order to approve them to the supreme court?

The correct answer is the senate. When the president makes a nomination it is the job of the senate to asses the candidacy and arrange a hearing of the judge and if all goes well then the judge will become a supreme court justice and be there until their retirement or their untimely death.
