What advantages did voting machines have over the old system of casting paper ballots used in the 1800s?

    The correct answer is they made voting faster and reduced fraud. People didn't have to write anything special on the paper and things like forgery were made harder because it was more difficult to falsify a ballot now since there was no handwriting involved in the process.
