What british military plan did the colonial victory at saratoga ruin?

The plan was simple that "New England" will be isolated from the rest of the colonies by General John Burgoyne and his army which will give a upper hand to British by stopping the Revolution and also a territorial edge. But it was failed due to the colonial victory at Saratoga.
