The cold war was a period of non-confronting political wars. The term "Cold War" comes from the war not being fought in a battle field yet through politics and through allies. The iron curtain was a speech given saying that communism would put a curtain over Europe. The Domino Theory was part of the reason the United States became involved in the Vietnam war. It stated that if one region of an area failed to communism more would follow. Containment also involves Vietnam. We tried to contain communism from the north from the south.
