    The answer is increased as more US troops went to fight in Vietnam.

    As more US troops went to fight in vietnam, more and more victims came out from American's side while the viets keep winning the battles.

    Becuase of this, many civilians started to see the invasion as a lost cause and the people who oppose vietnam war started to increase.
