Explain 2 consequences of the development of ranching on the Plains in the years 1866-76?

    The U. S. great plains were prone to drought. This made it hard for prairies to produce enough biomass to feed the number of cattle that ranchers brought. Cattle also loosened the fine prairie soils leading to erosion. Drove Native Americans out of their land too.
