The answer is united states v. lopez. It was the primary United States Supreme Court case since the New Deal as far as possible to Congress' energy under the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution. The Supreme Court held that the government Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, which prohibited ownership of handguns close schools, was illegal in light of the fact that it didn't substantially affect interstate trade.
