Ronald Reagan was an actor and the 40th president of America. The so-called "Reagan coalition" refers to a union of circumstance between citizens who voted for Republicans (Reagan himself was a republican) and citizens from Northwest who normally voted for republicans but voted for Reagan because of his views on abortion and his clear-cut foreign policy. The term is typically used for this situation in the 1980s, and it is seldom used nowadays except for referring to that period.
