    The correct answer here is B.

    Albert Pike's task was to gain and secure additional military aid for the Confederate forces and to do that he was tasked with negotiating numerous treaties with the Native Americans and was sent to them as the Confederate envoy. He did manage to secure a treaty with the Cherokee.
