    The first thing they did was Counting the electoral votes that were cast in the presidential election.

    They first certified that George Washington had been elected president unanimously after they recounted the electoral votes. After that, they started ratifying and approving amendments and new acts that were brought before the congress. They did this over the course of three sessions.
