How did the invention of printing by movable metal type in the mid-fifteenth century affect music?

    The invention of the printing process made it possible to make the type blocks cast like music markings which made it possible to print music rapidly and distribute it to people where they could now learn more easily. It also led to higher standardization since many things in music sheets were written by hand so sometimes the markings for same things varied from composer to composer.
