    Chinese youth wanted democracy--under this idea, the protests demonstrated the youth were not happy with a communist system in China and wanted more of a say in their government.

    The CCP was oppressive--the Chinese Communist Party could be viewed as oppressive and violent toward opposition as military was sent to end the protests. The protests ended with the massacre of students.
