During the Cold War, the foreign policy of the United States was containment. Under this policy, the United States would not go to war to get communism out of places that it already was, but would go to war to stop it from spreading.

    The answer would be True. An example of this would be the Vietnam War which was started because of the U. S. policy of containment. The U. S. along with South Vietnam tried to contain the rise of the communism in Northern Vietnam.
