Laissez-faire is an economic system in which the market is free for state controls, regulations, tariffs and basically is a system in which the private parties are free of doing whatever they want in the market.

Adam Smith criticized this economic system, saying that the results of a Laissez-faire economic system could lead to inepticism and indolence, as people in time might be unable to look at their own economic interest.
