    The economy of Saint-Domingue was fixed on slave based farming plantations. Due to this Saint-Domingue's black populace rapidly increased. Saint-Domingue rapidly came to surpass the earlier colonies in both capital and population. However in the wake of 1791, revolution against the slave system was established on the island. And by 1793, slavery was totally abolished.
