Another effect of the Reconquista is the liberation of religious tolerance in Spain. This led to the Christians being the only people allowed to stay, which led to the decrease of the Muslim and Jewish populations. While there was decrease in the Muslim and Jewish populations, the Christian population largely increased. This resulted to the dominance and preservation of Christianity in the region.
