Why did the fight for equality and freedom make women and african americans question their position in society?

    Because they ddi not lnow exaclty what they where fighting for

    For african americans, they were kept as slaves and had no freedom, no rights, nothing. And women had no equality, they were not allowed to have anything, the men got to own everything. They were treated as if their position was all the way at the bottom.
