Looking at the Puritan lives it is easy to conclude that these were the necessaries for survival. The fundamental belief of Puritans was devotion towards God and piety was also demonstrated in this attribute. Wherever religious persecution is present the courage is also a byproduct, survival depends on courage in such times which the Puritans showed. And precisely it can be said that piety led them and caused them to show courage. As the Bible commands its believers to work hard which requires industry also needed to survive.
