    Its kinda a personal question and my answer is the Louisiana purchase. this is because it doubled the amount of land that belonged to the U. S. It also caused much growth by making more jobs and more land for farmers or ranchers to purchase from the government. so all-in-all it was what caused the world to grow to an amazing place
