In the South, what was the relationship between increased cotton production and the increased number of enslaved African Americans?

    Slaves were the ones being used to farm the cotton using cotton gins to speed up production. The more cotton plantations popped up and the more the cotton demands increased, the slave numbers correlated in an increase to meet the labor demand of harvesting more cotton.
