Both Iraq under Saddam Hussein and Syria under Bashar al-Assad shared which difficulty?

    They both included dictators who oppressed their opposition. This caused wars in both countries and the Syrian conflict is still ongoing, unlike the Iraq one which ended when Saddam was arrested. The conflict in Iraq still exists, but is more of a local one than an international one.
