The Chicano Movement emerged in the 1960s and encompassed major contributions to Southwestern United States (American Soutwest). The purpose of this organization was to fight discrimination against people of Latino origin. Their goals also included rebuilding of lands, enhanced education for the students, farm worker’s rights, people’s right to vote, and awareness of their region’s history.
