    The answer to this question is forcing new immigrants to wait longer before becoming citizens.

    This act was created to slowed down the stream of immigrants and reduced the employment of citizens of united states. Before this act, it only took around 5 years to become a citizen of united states. After this act, that time has increased into 14 years.
