How did spanish colonies differ from English colonies?

    One of many differences where that Spain was more focused in gold & silver which were more abundant in South & Central America. Since the Spanish empire had so many colonies in South and Central America they did not have the money to keep expanding to the north this gave England the chance to arrive in North America looking for new opportunities.
