    To name the four modern countries once covered by Safavid Empire are: Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, most of Iraq.

    The other areas included Georgia, Afghanistan and the Caucasus, there were also some parts of Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey under their control. The Safavid Empire was one of the most strong dynasties of Iran and they ruled from 1501 to 1736.
