With the Monroe Doctrine, United States, in 1823, and subsequent reaffirmations of that doctrine, they established that all new free nations of Latin America were recognized by the United States and also any attempt by the nations of Europe to reconquer their former colonies, would be taken as an offensive for the US government, not only recognizing the independence of the American countries, but also supporting the Latin American countries against a possible invasion of the French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. That doctrine also said that the United States would not interfere in the affairs of the countries of Eruropa.
