In a modern society, what do we mean when we refer to the division of labor?

    Division of labor is a concept that allows for people in a household/relationship/grouping to perform the tasks that they are the best at. This does not have to be based on gender or age lines: it simply takes into account who is more adept at performing which parts of a task for keeping up some part of life.
