The Robinson - Patman Act (1936) was created to prohibit anti-competitive practices. The idea was to prevent unfair practices like monopolies and more specifically price discrimination. Price discrimination is the practice of charging customers different rates and getting teach to pay the highest amount possible. This was an amendment to the more famous Clayton Anti-Trust Act (1914).
