How did the English colonies organize themselves, and what were the colonists' early goals

    English colonists in America (US colonies) used the organization they knew well from Protestant Britain ... that is the Congregational Church. Each church to have an elected pastor, each elected church board, each independent but cooperating with other churches. This is how the colonists set up their town government (elected 'mayor', elected town board, independent, but cooperating with the other towns).
