Many philosophers wrote down their philosophies about people's right. While it is true that the concept of human rights, as rights we possess because we are human, is relatively new, many thinkers have written about this in the past, even theorized the existence of rights that are our because we do exist and not because they are given by an authority.

Natural law is a theory that says that there are certain rights that we possess from the moment we born not because they are given to us, but simply because in the natural world we exist.
