What differences between older and newer unions tended to cause tension within the labor movement

    The industrial unions established in the late 19th and early 20th centuries took a radical stance towards economic and social reforms, where as the older unions felt differently. The newer unions also represented people of a variety of trades and even minorities. Since newer unions were more inclusive and promoted radical stances on economic and social reforms, competition among older and newer unions grew and created tension.
