Only small number of Europeans among the colonizing groups considered American-Indians as their equals. However, the majority of Europeans accepted the importance of Indians in their expedition to exploit America's resources. As such, they still had to cooperate with them. Africans were simply considered of use for their labour by Europeans. As such, European superiority saw feisty efforts to change the beliefs and worldviews of the other two groups. However, the Indians strived to uphold their political and cultural independence through resistance which often led to conflict. In contrast, the Africans remained subjugated by the association of slavery. This led them to lose a huge part of their identity.
