Why did Lord Cornwallis move his main army to the Yorktown peninsula?

He thought the British fleet could reinforce his position.

He was desperate for ammunition and food supplies.

He intended to board British ships and retreat north to fight again.

He thought he had already defeated the enemy beyond recovery.

    I think its the first one since the british believed that the loyalist would hold their territory
