Why was china so supreme in the far east through 1800? what were both the strengths and the weaknesses of its sprawling territory and diverse population? in contrast why assets did japan develop between 1600 and 1800 that allowed it to become more urban and politically and culturally unified?

    One of the strengths in china in the 1800's were the economic stability of China. It was the most productive economy. Also, China had natural resources such as rice that flourished during this time. Around this time Japan begin to acquire goods from America and trading increased as well to increase the economy. This allowed Japan to be more Urban.
