First is deforestation and overgrazing. This kind of human modification more or less brought great harm to the ecosystem. Not only were the dense and lush forests useful for things like oxygen, but they were also homes to numerous animals and plants who couldn't live without them. In addition, these practices brought great harm to the land itself.

Second is salinization. Because of bad business practices, the land itself has become much more salinized than normal. This led to huge problems with cultivating food or plants in many regions. This kind of behavior ruins soil and also reduces water quality in the region that already has trouble with water, Africa for example.

Third is problems with water management. Large bodies of water were completely ruined because of poor human modification of the environment. A lot of water bodies were left undrinkable or the natural ecosystems of those bodies were ruined through things like rerouting water streams, oils spills, or similar practices.

Fourth can be destruction of endemic plant species. There are numerous plants that are only found in those regions and these plants were harvested unscrupulously by companies that would use them for things like making cosmetic products or similar things. Because of only having profits in sight, many plants are endangered now.

Fifth can be destruction of coral reefs. Coral reefs are found in seas around Africa and the SW Asia region. Through bad practices and poisoning water in various ways, the coral reef was also damaged heavily and was believed to have died. It almost did which would be a travesty but recent plans made sure that it was kept alive.
