How did the taiping rebellion affect foreign relations with china?

    The Taiping Rebellion caused many Chinese to be killed. In result of the rebellion, the Chinese Imperial government became weak and resulted to them relying on the British and French aids to extinguish the rebellion. The effect of the aids; however, caused China to be more vulnerable against the West's domination.
